Sculpture In The Square

23rd May 2017

Henry Moore’s 'Seated Woman' Barbara Hepworth’s 'Curved Form' (Bryher II)

St. James’ Square Gardens is being transformed into an open-air art gallery with works by Lynn Chadwick, Barry Flanagan, Elisabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.

The exhibition promotes Christie’s Modern British Art and Impressionist & Modern Art sale in June and includes works from The Tuttleman Collection, put together by collectors Edna and Stanley Tuttleman. Hepworth’s Curved Form (Bryher II) is expected to fetch up to £2.5million. Elisabeth Frink’s Horse is valued at £1 million.

Exhibition curator Nicholas Orchard, senior director of modern British and Irish art at Christie’s, said: “This exhibition offers viewers an opportunity to appreciate leading modern sculptures within the landscape surroundings that the artists intended for them.”

The exhibition is being hosted by the auction house from 23 May - 29 June 2017.
