WELCOME TO THE ARMY & NAVY CLUB

Situated in relaxed refinement in the heart of St James's, the Army and Navy Club, often known by its nickname, "The Rag", prides itself on offering a unique combination of the ambience traditionally found in an officers' mess, with the comfort and facilities of an exclusive hotel.

Catering primarily for serving and former officers of the British and Commonwealth Armed Services, as well as their immediate relatives, the Club has approximately 5,000 Members comprising both ladies and gentlemen. The Club is also able to offer a limited number of membership places to other ladies and gentlemen who have not served in the Armed Forces.

Enjoy the extensive amenities the Club has to offer, from relaxing with a drink in one of the bars, or fine dining in one of our restaurants, to holding private business meetings or attending a presentation in our conference and business facilities. The Club’s comfortable, distinguished and beautiful environment also welcomes private events such as weddings and parties, and with over 80 attentive staff, an excellent standard of service is provided.

What's more, the Club is within easy reach of many London attractions - shopping on Bond Street, Regent Street or Jermyn Street, seats at a West End show, a gentle stroll round St James's Park or visiting London's most famous places, such as Buckingham Palace, the Mall, Horseguards, Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament. The Club also has established connections with many local businesses, who help to add value to Club membership by offering discounts and exclusive arrangements specifically to Club Members.

The Army and Navy Club is a member of the Younger Members' Inter-Club Group  (for further information click here).

ARMY & NAVY CLUB FLY FISHERS' ASSOCIATION

The Army & Navy Club Fly Fishers’ Association provides its members with some first-class

dry fly fishing. The current portfolio of fishing includes beats on the Test, Itchen and

Anton rivers in Hampshire and the Avon in Wiltshire. Most of the fishing can be accessed

easily, with parking on the river bank. All the beats are in beautiful surroundings and

there is much enjoyment from being in the quiet of the countryside. There are currently

a limited number of vacancies, so if you would like to join, early application is advised.

Full contact details are in the Members’ Area/Sporting Clubs.

BUSINESS USERS – NEW FACILITY

For a trial period (and in addition to the Reference Library) the Ian Jacob Bar is

available for Members’ business use every weekday, from 07.00 to 11.30. Between

these times, laptops and mobile phones may be used without restriction, business

papers, briefcases and similar paraphernalia may be taken into the bar, and informal

meetings of no more than 4 people may be held.

Free hot beverages, chilled juices and smoothies are available, and the Bloomberg

Business channel will be shown on the widescreen TV. In addition, there will be one

workstation giving free and unlimited internet access. Pastries, bacon rolls and other

light refreshments are also available to purchase.

Users are requested to observe the end-time of 11.30, after which normal Club Rules

for public rooms will apply.
